Chickpeas have more names than you probably think. These little powerhouses are also known as garbanzo beans, sanagali, ceci beans, chana, and bengal gram. Not only do they come in the common pale yellowish color, they can also be green, red, black and brown.
To make crunchy roasted chickpeas, simply toss some chickpeas in olive oil and salt along with some of your favorite spices like paprika, chili powder or cayenne pepper. For a sweeter version try olive oil, brown sugar and cinnamon. Place on a baking sheet in the oven at 400F degrees for 20 to 30 minutes and enjoy. Until later, chickpeace out!
