Waste Not

  • This is one of my favorite quotes as it perfectly depicts that everyone needs to work together in our mission to treat the environment a little more kindly.

    Did you know that ⅓ of all food produce globally goes to waste and that 25% of the food wasted globally could feed the whole world’s undernourished population?

    As much as we strive to reduce waste in the kitchen at work, it only helps if everyone joins in at home therefore I have a quick tip to get on track. Start by saving and freezing your vegetable scraps. Literally anything from potato peels to the tops of your carrots to the bottoms of your asparagus. Later down the road, use everything to make vegetable stock for soups or cooking. Stay tuned for future tips on reducing food waste at home.
